Apadana

Apadana

The foundation ruins were found during the road works carried out by Nevşehir Municipality in 2004 in the Emek District of Nevşehir city centre, and rescue excavations were performed in 2005 under the presidency of the Museum Directorate. As a result of the rescue excavations of the structure, the structure is associated with the columned structures of the Persian / Achaimenid period, since no mortar is used in the construction of the foundation bases and the distance between the bases is narrow. In addition, the structure, which is thought to be an apadana belonging to the Persian period due to the discover of ceramics from the 6th century BC during the excavations, has the feature of being a new example in terms of Anatolian apadanas due to its foundation remains and features.
